This painting is of my youngest son, Kerry, holding his granddad’s horse, Red, many years ago. It was one of many cool mornings that Kerry spent with his grandad, Dale Lukens, and Red working cattle and checking pastures. Those long hours spent in the shadow of a mentor, both human and horse, helped a young boy live out his dream.
