Cattle can be spooky critters.  When driving cattle there is always at least one that will break away from the herd and head in the wrong direction on a dead run.  It takes a good cowboy on a good horse to remedy the situation and get the trouble maker back to the herd.  Horses are faster than cattle and this cowboy will soon get ahead of the cow and push her back to the herd by turning his horse left into the cow.
